This project is continuing to monitor the watershed of Zengwen Reservoir Transbasin Diversion project sites, and evaluates the environmental variations and trends (e.g. bare land area and/or riverbed development) based on the monitoring data. In addition, risk-index of new water intake works under this sediment environment is also established and evaluated in this project. According to the evaluation of risk-index, possible plans of new water intake works are proposed. Also, future direction of Zengwen Reservoir Transbasin Diversion Project will be proposed by taking into consideration Zengwen Reservoir storage capacity as well as water supply and demand of southern area.
The working items of this project include:
1. Environmental monitoring of Laonong and Qishan River basin
(1) Compilation of fundamental watershed data
(2) Monitoring and analysis for landslides and debris flow
(3) Monitoring of discharge and suspended-sediment concentrations, and analysis of streambed evolution
(4) Risk-index establishment and evaluation for new water intake works
2. Evaluation for possible plans of new water intake works
(1) Possible plans of new intake works at Laonong River
(2) Possible plans of new intake works at Qishan River
3. Function review of Zengwen Reservoir Transbasin Diversion project including sedimentation analysis of Zengwen Reservoir and review of water supply and demand of southern area
4. Other appurtenant work
It is noted that the formal award of contract will be conducted only after the amendment of "Zengwen Reservoir Transbasin Diversion Project-Typhoon Morakot Post-processing Program" has been officially approved by the Executive Yuan. For more details please refer to the tender documentation.
